The Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has constituted a 7- member Investigation Committee to inquire into alleged unethical medical practices at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).
This is contained in a press release issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry, Mr Tony Goodman on January 29.
The Investigation Committee is chaired by Alhaji Dr (Pharm) Inua Yusuf, Esq. – Head/Dir Legal Affairs, Ministry of Health and it is composed of the following members:
- Eric Kofi Ngyedu – CEO, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital & Dean of CEOs for Teaching Hospitals
- Adam Abass – Neurosurgeon, Tamale Teaching Hospital & President, Ghana Academy of Neurosurgeons
- George Sabblah – Deputy CEO (Technical Operations) of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) & Representative for FDA
- Nicholas Adjabu – Biomedical Engineer- Biomedical Engineering Unit, Ministry of Health
- Frederick Kwarteng – Representative, Ghana Medical Association (GMA) & Head of Department of Trauma & Orthopedics & Department of Accident and Emegency of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
- John Osae-Kwapong – Democracy and Development Fellow, CDD-Ghana & Rep, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)

Mr Goodman said, “The key objectives of the Committee are;
” To conduct a comprehensive and independent inquiry into allegations of unethical medical practices at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing governance, oversight, and control systems in preventing unethical and unauthorized practices within the affected health facilities.”

He said, “the Committee has been directed by the Health Minister to submit its final report and recommendations to the Ministry by 10th February, 2026.
The Ministry of Health assured the general public of its full cooperation with the Committee and reiterated its unwavering commitment to upholding ethical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system.
