Governor Asiama wins Policy Impact Award as BoG assures of continued commitment to prudent monetary policy

Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama received the Policy Impact Award at the Ghana Union of Traders Association Inauguration of New Executives and Awards Night in Accra.

GUTA has commended the Governor’s leadership over the past months, citing his role in bringing inflation under control and stabilising the Cedi.

GUTA singled out Dr Asiama’s stewardship in recent months, highlighting his role in steering policies that have contributed to easing inflationary pressures and restoring relative stability to the Ghanaian cedi which are key concerns for the country’s trading community.
The award was received on his behalf by Bernard Otabil, Director of Communications at the central bank and Aimee Quashie, Secretary to the Bank who underscored the Bank’s continued commitment to prudent monetary policy and stakeholder engagement.

For traders, who are often the first to feel the impact of currency volatility and price instability, the acknowledgment of the central bank’s efforts signals renewed optimism about the trading environment.

The recognition highlights the growing alignment between monetary policy makers and the business community, particularly as traders remain sensitive to exchange rate volatility and price instability, which directly affect import costs and margins.
