Addressing the Wa Naa and Elders in the Wa palace on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the Minister indicated that, he came to assure the Wa Naa and the good people of Wa and Upper West Region that the government, just as the president promised is committed to fixing the road.

He noted that, since the president instructed him to do something about the Wa – Sowla – Bole road, the Ministry of Roads and Highways has had the opportunity to assess the road.

Adding that from next week a contractor will come to site, first to deal with the bad sections of the road.

“We are proposing a two-step strategy to fix the road. The first strategy is to address the bad sections of the road. Then once that is done, we put an asphalt overlay on the road, and when that is done, it will become a first-class road that will solve a lot of problems that this bad road is creating in the region”. Asensu said.

Since the appointment of the Bantama legislature as Minister for Roads and Highways, he has been going around the country to inspect road projects and compare what is on the ground with the reports he has received from the officials across the country.

Meanwhile, the Overlord of the Waala traditional council seized the opportunity to thank the government and the roads ministry for the infrastructural development in the Upper West Region.
