The Wa Central Constituency Youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by the Youth of Organiser Hon Abdul Fataw Daud has embarked on a clear-up campaign focused on the Wa Municipal hospital geared towards maintaining the health of patients admitted at the facility.
Speaking during the clear-up campaign at the hospital on June 13, 2024, the NPP Youth Organiser said it is part of their corporate social responsibility to give back to society and there is no better place to start than the Municipal hospital, noting that, the facility is a potential home for everyone.
According to him, the clear-up was focused on the children and maternity wards because such facilities host pregnant women and newborns/children because they are the most vulnerable and need to be protected against the hazards of the environment that may arise from the unhealthy disposal of waste.
Hon Abdul Fataw further noted that keeping our environment clean or practicing personal hygiene is fundamental to maintaining good health.
As part of the clear-up campaign, the NPP youth swept and hocked the overgrown grasses around the children and maternity wards while drumming and dancing.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director in charge of administration at the Municipal hospital Alhassan Hissam Bomangsaan said this will help lower the cost of the hospital in that regard.
He lauded the efforts of the NPP youth wing while appealing to other benevolent organizations to follow suit.
