Bawumia scores Mahama 33-0 in terms of policies champion as vice president

The flagbearer and leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said as the Vice president of the Republic of Ghana he has championed the introduction of 33 policies, comparing his performance as a vice president to his main contender while he was vice president, he scores him zero.

He said “If you look at the work I have done as a Vice president, I can list 33 different policies I have done or initiated or championed and if I can do all of these as vice president, then if you make me president I can do much much more.
That is why most people will say if you look at all the vice presidents that have come into this country, you would not find any more effective vice president than Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia. The records are there, my main opponent cannot mention one policy he has done or championed, so the score is 33-0”.

Addressing the Muslim ummah at the Upper West Regional Library on May 19, 2023, the vice President stated that Ghana is at the forefront of digitalization, following the introduction of E-pharmacy, the Ghana card, the digital address system and the Mobile Money interoperability, which enables you to move money from one mobile network to another and even move money from your bank account to your mobile money account. This, he said can only be found in Ghana.

According to the flagbearer of the NPP, they have eliminated ghost workers from the government payroll due to the Ghana card because all workers were asked to be linked to their Ghana card and their unique fingerprints were taken. He revealed that they found 44,000 ghost workers at the National Service Secretariat (NSS) saving the nation Ghc400 million and Social Security Trust Fund (SSNIT) 19,000 ghost pensioners saving the country Ghc350 million. Two institutions alone have saved the country Ghc750 million, he said.

Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia further indicated that other countries are coming to Ghana to learn how our digital system is working because we have become the forefront of digitalization, noting that if given the mantel, he is targeting to train 1 million youth in digital skills and the only qualification one will need is how to read and write. Adding that this will allow them to even gain employment beyond the borders of this country while sitting at their home.

The leader of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s opinion is that people living with disability are very sharp and intelligent, hence one major policy he seeking to introduce if given a nod is the free tertiary education policy for people living with a disability.
