In a statement issued on Thursday, May 29, PAOG said the 52-year-old pilgrim died in Mina following an acute illness after completing the Arafat ritual, one of the key rites of the Hajj.
The Office explained that her family has been informed, and she has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites for deceased pilgrims.
The statement noted that this brings the total number of Ghanaian pilgrims who have died during this year’s Hajj to three.
The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana expressed its condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, and friends, asking for strength and comfort during the period of mourning.
It also highlighted the spiritual significance of passing away during Hajj, noting that pilgrims who die in Mina are believed in Islamic tradition to receive continuous rewards for their pilgrimage until the Day of Judgment.
The Office prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased, grant her Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort her family with patience and strength.
