70% of Fulani in Upper West Region to Vote for NPP – Secretary 

The Upper West Regional Secretary of the Fulani Community, Nuhu Abubakari Sidik, promises they will give the New Patriotic Party 70% of their votes come December 7, 2024. Indicating that they made the decision based on their gradual involvement in decision-making by the NPP government.

Noting the challenges some go through in acquiring and owning a Ghana Card, he, however, acknowledges their participation in decision-making at the various assemblies since the NPP came into power. This and many policies geared towards their welfare, he said they have confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will continue.

Affirming the challenges associated with the Fulbe the acquisition of Ghana Card and seizure of such cards by some security officials, The NPP parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Central constituency, Hajia Humu Awudu said the NPP haven’t acknowledged them as Ghanaians will work to avert the unlawful practice.

Addressing the Fulani Community at the Jubilee Park in Wa during her nationwide campaign tour, the second lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia, said no one has the right to prevent or take away anyone’s Ghana card because they are Fulani. Adding that, the NPP government under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will enforce their right under the 1992 constitution.

She calls on the Fulani community (Pulaaku) in the Upper West Region to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to continually create a peaceful environment for the Fulani to coexist with other tribes in Ghana.

Emphasizing the need for the Pulaaku to embrace modernization in cattle rearing, the Second lady urged them to have a designated settlement and establish modern cattle ranges to curb farmer-header conflict.

According to her, quitting the habit of moving from one place to another will promote peaceful coexistence and offer a good education for their children to earn employable skills.

On his part, the National Chairman of Pulaaku for NPP, Abdul Akim Adam, encourages the Fulani to practice inter-marriage with the indigenous tribes and establish social relations with others to promote peace in the Region.
